Larnaka 2030 organization launches Dramaturgies of the Place initiative

The Larnaka 2030 organization, candidate for the European Capital of Culture, has issued an open call for playwrights to participate in the 'Dramaturgies of the Place' project. Artistic Director Kelly Diapouli stated that the initiative aims to redefine the relationship between writing, location, and community. Selected writers will work within neighborhoods of Larnaka and its surrounding district to engage with residents and local groups. The process involves field research, observation, and interviews to convert local memories and daily life into original creative content. This collaborative approach shifts theater writing from individual creation to a collective research-based practice. The developed works are scheduled to be presented as site-specific performances in 2027.
