Cyprus Theatre Organization presents Euripides' Ion

The Cyprus Theatre Organization (THOC) will stage Euripides' play Ion, directed by Thomas Moschopoulos. The production features sets and costumes by Vasilis Papatsarouhas, music by Anastasia Dimitriadou, choreography by Fotis Nikolaou, and assistant direction by Marios Kakoullis. The main cast includes Stella Fyrogeni as Creusa, Neoklis Neokleou as Xuthus, and Giannis Tsoumarakis in the titular role of Ion. Performances in Cyprus are scheduled for July 16, 17, and 18 at the Makarios III Amphitheatre, July 22 at the Pattihio Municipal Amphitheatre in Larnaca, and July 24 at the Ancient Theatre of Kourion. The production will conclude with performances at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus on August 28 and 29 as part of the 2026 Athens and Epidaurus Festival. The play explores themes of identity and belonging, focusing on the story of Ion, who grows up at the Oracle of Apollo in Delphi without knowing his true origins.
