Telethon 2026 fundraising event concludes

The Telethon 2026 charity event, organized to support patients with myopathies and neurological diseases, took place on June 9-10, 2026. The three-hour broadcast was aired by the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (RIK) on RIK1, its satellite channel, and its website. President Nikos Christodoulides attended the opening of the event, expressing gratitude to the volunteers, the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics, the Myopaths Association, and RIK. During his address, the President emphasized the government's commitment to supporting citizens facing health challenges. Reports confirmed that over 35,000 euros were raised by the time the event neared its conclusion. The President had previously expressed a hope that the final total would exceed the 50,000 euros collected during the previous year's event.
