Recent arrests in Paphos regarding explosive device and arson investigations
Police in Paphos have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with an attempt to destroy property using explosives on March 30, 2026. This follows the arrest of a 46-year-old man on April 1, 2026, who is currently held at the Paphos Permanent Assizes. Separately, police have detained a 32-year-old man already in custody at Central Prisons, linking him to four distinct arson and property destruction cases occurring between April and May 2026. These cases include the use of explosives at a company office, a grenade attack at a private clinic owner's residence, and the arson of ambulances at a private clinic. Specific incidents involving the 32-year-old suspect are dated April 28, April 30, May 3, and May 13, 2026. The Paphos Criminal Investigation Department continues to lead the investigations into all incidents. Authorities are relying on witness testimony to build the cases against the detainees.
