Central Bank of Cyprus reports decline in dishonored checks for May

Data released by the Central Bank of Cyprus on Wednesday shows that ten dishonored checks worth €32,026 were added to the Central Information Registry (CIR) in May. These checks were issued by three legal entities. From the start of the year through May, a total of 69 dishonored checks valued at €210,502 were recorded. This figure represents a 32% decrease in the number of checks and a 12.8% decrease in total value compared to the same period last year. In May, one legal entity and one individual who controls a legal entity were added to the registry for issuing dishonored checks. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 50 issuers have been added to the CIR, including 20 legal entities, 6 individuals, and 24 individuals who control legal entities.
