GO plc strategy regarding Cablenet expansion in Cyprus

The Maltese telecommunications company GO plc has been supporting the Cypriot provider Cablenet Communications since 2014. As part of a targeted transformation strategy, Cablenet is leveraging the parent company's expertise to expand its digital services in the Cypriot market. GO plc, which has operated since 1975, reported revenues of €254.4 million and profits of €20.7 million for 2025, representing increases of 3.9% and 31.7% respectively. The group provides quad-play services to over 500,000 customers in Malta and is diversifying into sectors including data centers, renewable energy, health technology, IoT, and cybersecurity. A recent €100 million investment has been made into a national fiber-optic network in Malta with speeds reaching up to 10 Gbps. Furthermore, the group manages three submarine cables connecting Malta to Sicily, France, Egypt, and Asia. Cablenet is now utilizing this technological infrastructure to scale its own Gigabit service offerings throughout Cyprus.
