Irene Charalambidou comments on ALMA movement election results

Member of Parliament Irene Charalambidou, representing the ALMA movement, recently discussed the aftermath of the parliamentary elections during an interview on Sigma TV. Charalambidou stated that the movement's campaign was characterized by a calm atmosphere and a lack of internal competition, supported by her longstanding personal relationship with leader Odysseas Michaelides. She noted that she purposefully limited her public visibility to allow space for younger candidates. Regarding the results, she acknowledged that ALMA received 5.8% of the vote, which fell short of her personal expectation of 8%. The MP attributed this performance to the activation of major party machinery in the final days of the campaign. Furthermore, she emphasized the movement's focus on transparency, noting that the campaign was conducted with minimal expenses, including 160 euros for her personal printed materials. The movement notably refrained from traditional practices such as billboard posting and intensive advertising. Finally, she briefly commented on a viral video involving DISY President Annita Demetriou and Fidias Panayiotou.
