Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to launch tourism campaign in Azerbaijan

Fikri Ataoglu, the tourism official for the self-declared Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, announced a promotional campaign in Azerbaijan following a meeting in Ankara with Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. The initiative aims to promote the tourism brand of the northern part of Cyprus internationally. Both parties confirmed an agreement to extend these promotional activities through the years 2026 and 2027. During the meeting, the officials also discussed the potential impact of the Iran-Israel conflict on the tourism sector and explored collaborative support measures. While Turkish media sources highlight the strategic cooperation between the two sides, the Republic of Cyprus views these activities as efforts by a pseudo-state to gain international recognition. This upcoming event in Azerbaijan is planned as a large-scale cultural and tourism initiative. It follows similar previous actions conducted within Turkey.
