New York Knicks potential interest in Giannis Antetokounmpo depending on NBA Finals outcome
Journalists Marc Stein and Jake Fischer report that the New York Knicks may pursue a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo if they fail to win the current NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. The Knicks currently lead the series 2-1, though reports note they previously held a 2-0 lead. The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly waiting for the conclusion of the postseason before making any decisions regarding the 31-year-old superstar to better assess the market. If the Knicks lose the title, they are expected to offer a trade package centered around Karl-Anthony Towns. Conversely, some reports suggest that if the Knicks win the championship, the Miami Heat would become the frontrunners for acquiring Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo is currently visiting Hong Kong, and sources indicate New York is among his preferred destinations. The Knicks have not won an NBA championship since 1973.
