41st PSEKA annual conference held in Washington
The 41st annual conference of the International Coordinating Committee Justice for Cyprus (PSEKA) commenced in Washington D.C., running from June 9 to June 11. The event gathers expatriate leaders and U.S. officials to discuss bilateral relations and regional security. Participants are scheduled to hold meetings with over 50 members of the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives, and executive branch. Cypriot Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis is in attendance to address the delegation. During sessions at the U.S. Capitol, Congress members including Maggie Goodlander reaffirmed bipartisan support for Cyprus and Greece, emphasizing energy cooperation and democratic values. Discussions focused on the National Defense Authorization Act as a tool to strengthen ties. Regarding the Cyprus issue, speakers stated that the 50-year-old status quo is unacceptable and expressed support for an end to the occupation. The conference schedule includes strategic discussions and diplomatic receptions involving the Cypriot Ambassador, Evangelos Savva, and the Greek Ambassador, Antonios Alexandridis.
