Expansion of Ronald McDonald House Charities facilities in Nicosia
On Thursday, Cypriot Minister of Health Neophytos Charalambidis inaugurated a new wing at the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) facility in Nicosia. Since its opening in 2022, the organization has provided over 10,000 nights of accommodation to more than 900 families of children hospitalized at Makarios Hospital. The new expansion increases the capacity of the facility from 13 to 17 rooms. This project aims to support families with children receiving care in the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, the Pediatric Oncology Department, and the general Pediatric Clinic. The Minister emphasized that proximity to hospitalized children is a critical factor for the wellbeing of both the patients and their parents. The initiative serves to alleviate the financial and practical burdens faced by families during medical treatments. The ceremony was held on behalf of the President of the Republic.
