Cypria Auctions summer sale to feature 160 works in Nicosia

Cypria Auctions will hold its summer auction on June 17 at Gallery K in Nicosia. The event features approximately 160 items, including paintings, sculptures, and historical textiles from Cyprus, Greece, and Europe. Highlighted lots include two works by George Pol Georgiou: 'Mother and Child' and the iconic 'Centaurine' from approximately 1959. A significant historical item is a copy of the New Testament dedicated to Ioannis Kapodistrias, printed in Geneva shortly before his 1831 assassination. The catalog spans works from the early 20th century to the present, featuring artists such as Telemachos Kanthos, Christophoros Savva, Dimitris Mytaras, and Yiannis Tsarouchis. Sculptures by artists like Theodoros Papayiannis and George Kyriacou will also be showcased. Additionally, the auction includes a rare collection of 18th-century Aegean embroideries from Skyros, Naxos, and Sifnos. The collection represents various cultural traditions from the Greek and Cypriot artistic spheres.
