Cyprus police launches new digital portal for public services
On June 8, 2026, the Cyprus Police officially launched the DigiPol digital portal to facilitate online services for citizens. The platform, accessible via GOV.CY, allows users to access over 30 police services without needing to visit physical stations. Available services include obtaining criminal record certificates, requesting police reports, and reporting lost identity cards. The project was presented at a press conference by Deputy Chief of Police Panikos Stavrou. It was developed in collaboration with the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of the University of Cyprus, the company NETU, and various government ministries. The initiative is funded by the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility as part of the national recovery plan for Cyprus. This system is designed to replace manual processes and eliminate the need for in-person visits to police facilities. The development process involved multiple government bodies to ensure secure and efficient service delivery.
