Energy ministers of the 3+1 format hold meeting in Houston
Energy ministers from Cyprus, Greece, the United States, and Israel met in Houston on June 12, 2026, to advance the 3+1 Energy Dialogue. The participants agreed to develop a formal roadmap for cooperation, which they aim to approve by the end of the year. The agenda focused on regional energy security, offshore natural gas development, innovation, and interconnected infrastructure. Key initiatives discussed included regional interconnectivity projects and the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) to strengthen supply chains. A new working group for cybersecurity and the physical protection of critical infrastructure was established as an initial action. The meeting also marked the launch of the Eastern Mediterranean Energy Center. Cyprus highlighted its natural gas potential, citing six discoveries totaling approximately 20 trillion cubic feet. The next ministerial meeting is scheduled to take place in Israel.
