Police in Larnaca investigate alleged kidnapping of a 22-year-old student

Cyprus police are currently investigating an alleged kidnapping involving a 22-year-old foreign national who is a student residing in Larnaca. The investigation was initiated following a report filed by the victim's housemate shortly before 1:00 am. According to the reported details, the student left his residence around 6:30 pm on Thursday to attend his first shift at a factory, the location of which remains unknown to the authorities. Later that evening, the student's father, who resides abroad, received a series of phone calls and messages from an unidentified individual. The perpetrator demanded a ransom payment in exchange for the release of the 22-year-old. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Larnaca has taken over the case and is actively pursuing the investigation.
