Olympiacos intensifies summer transfer efforts ahead of preseason training

Olympiacos is working to finalize several key transfers before the preseason begins on June 29th at Renti. The club is in advanced negotiations for Spanish right-back Pablo Maffeo, who is expected in Athens for medical tests. Other primary targets include French defender Noah Fadiga, whose transfer is pending agreement with Lorient, and Girona midfielder Joel Roca, for whom Olympiacos has submitted an improved bid. Additionally, the club is pursuing Swedish defender Zinedin Smajlovic, facing competition from Bodo/Glimt, Celtic, and Toulouse. Regarding the central defense, Miquel Mallo remains a difficult target due to significant external interest, and the team is currently seeking urgent reinforcements for this position. Separately, the Cypriot branch of Olympiacos has signed Andreas Frangos from Nea Salamina and is near an agreement with Marios Pechlivanis from Ethnikos Achnas. The team aims to provide coach Jose Luis Mendilibar with a largely complete squad before training commences.
