Mother arrested in Thessaloniki after 13-year-old found unattended

On the afternoon of the previous day, a 13-year-old child was found crying alone on a street in the Toumpa district of Thessaloniki. A local resident discovered the minor and alerted the authorities. Following an investigation by the Toumpa-Triandria Crimes Investigation Department, the 47-year-old mother, an Iraqi national, was identified and arrested. She faces charges of exposing a minor to danger, and a case file has been opened against her. The child was subsequently placed in the care of a relative. The minor will remain with the relative until the completion of official legal and social procedures. No other individuals were reported to be involved in the incident.
