Fundraising campaign launched for the repatriation of a murdered Cypriot man from London
A fundraising campaign has been launched via GoFundMe to cover the funeral and repatriation costs for 60-year-old Michalis Kyriakou. Kyriakou, who had lived in London for two years, was the victim of a violent attack in the city on May 14, 2026. He succumbed to his injuries on May 22, 2026, despite medical efforts to save him. The victim was well-known in Ayia Napa, Cyprus, where he previously operated the area's first tattoo studio. His brother, Miltos Kyriakou, initiated the appeal to fulfill the wish of the victim's elderly mother to have him buried in his home country. Kyriakou had previously lost an arm due to a prior injury. The family is currently seeking financial assistance from friends and the public to facilitate the transport of his remains.
