In an interview with the show 'Alpha Enimerosi', Papastavrou explained that his statement was a standard encouragement for civic duty, similar to practices in other countries. He confirmed that he voted in Cyprus for the first time. Addressing speculation about the team's political ties, he noted that while many Omonia fans historically support the Left, the club management remains neutral. He denied receiving any political pressure during his tenure as president. Furthermore, Papastavrou discussed future infrastructure plans, mentioning a stadium project estimated at 100-120 million euros, and highlighted his personal investment of over 20 million euros in the club.
