Cyprus building permits data for February 2026

The Statistical Service of Cyprus reported a significant increase in building activity for February 2026. A total of 711 building permits were issued in February, representing a 26.5% increase compared to 562 permits issued in February 2025. The total value of these permits reached €379.9 million, up from €296.3 million the previous year, while the total area increased to 314.7 thousand square meters from 237.2 thousand. These permits are projected to facilitate the construction of 1,708 residential units, compared to 1,094 in the same month of 2025. For the combined January-February 2026 period, 1,500 permits were issued, a 48.8% rise from the 1,008 permits issued during the same period in 2025. Reports indicate that the total value of permits for this two-month period increased by 56.5%, the area by 54.9%, and the number of residential units by 79.2%.
