Ukraine to request $20 billion in additional aid at Ramstein meeting

Ukraine intends to request $20 billion in additional financial and military support from its allies to solidify its position on the battlefield. The request is scheduled to be presented next Thursday during the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, also known as the Ramstein group, which includes over 50 nations. Ukrainian officials, including drone force commander Robert Brovdi, claim that intensified drone strikes on Russian logistics and energy infrastructure have significantly slowed down Russian advances this year. According to Kyiv, this tactical momentum is intended to compel Moscow to enter peace negotiations under more favorable conditions for Ukraine, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy aiming for progress before winter. Conversely, Russian President Vladimir Putin maintains that Russian forces continue to advance and currently does not see a necessity for negotiations. The strategic goal of the proposed funding is to further destroy Russian supply lines and facilitate a potential withdrawal of Russian troops from the front lines.
