27th Cyprus contemporary dance festival concludes with performance Tempo
The 27th Cyprus Contemporary Dance Festival will conclude on Sunday, June 21, at the Rialto Theatre. The festival is organized by the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Rialto Theatre. The final event is the production titled Tempo, which represents the first collaboration between Finnish director and magician Kalle Nio and Brazilian choreographer Fernando Melo. The work is based on a text by Harry Salmenniemi and features music composed by Samuli Kosminen. Performers on stage include Barbara Kanc, Luigi Sardone, and Winston Reynolds, who incorporate dance, theatre, and acrobatics. The production explores the theme of time, including its acceleration and suspension, through a fusion of illusion and movement. The festival organizers stated that the event has provided a platform for international and local contemporary choreographic expressions.
