Makarios III technical school wins bullying awareness competition

The Makarios III Technical and Vocational School in Nicosia has been awarded first prize in the national student video competition titled 'Together We Stop Bullying'. The competition was organized by the Ministry of Education in partnership with the Yianis Christodoulou Foundation and MHV Group. The winning short film, titled 'I See You', portrays the psychological struggles of a bullied student using the symbol of white stones to represent the victim's emotional burden. The film concludes with classmates intervening to support the victim, forming the message 'I See You' to promote empathy and solidarity. The school received a 50,000 euro cash prize, which will be allocated toward upgrading school facilities and improving the students' educational environment. The creative team included students Styliana Charalambous, Fotini Gypsiotis, Vasiliki Kakouri, Maria Neokleous, and Chrysovalanto. Ministry officials praised the entry for its authenticity and its focus on the role of bystanders in preventing school abuse. The project was officially announced on Friday.
