Pentagon releases third batch of declassified files on UAP sightings
On June 12, the Pentagon released its third set of previously classified documents concerning unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). This release follows previous batches disclosed on May 8 and May 22. The 72 included files from the FBI, the CIA, and the Pentagon comprise eyewitness reports, videos, and artistic renderings. Several reports focus on sightings of glowing, spherical objects in the northeastern United States. One FBI document from February details an interview with two individuals who described observing a bright, red sphere about three feet wide with a plasma-like core. The individuals reported that the object appeared to have a secondary sphere attached as they moved away. The disclosure is part of a broader government process regarding unidentified flying objects that has continued since the late 1970s under various administrations, including the current effort under President Donald Trump.
