Foody platform addresses food safety concerns regarding delivery practices
On Friday, the food delivery platform Foody responded to inquiries from the Cyprus News Agency regarding the hygiene standards of home-delivered food. The company stated that it implements control procedures for delivery partners to ensure high safety standards. Foody clarified that there are no recorded or confirmed systemic issues regarding the cleanliness of delivery boxes. The company argued that proving a direct link between food spoilage and transport equipment is difficult because food is sealed in restaurant packaging before being placed in the delivery box. This multi-layered packaging process is intended to protect food quality during transit. Despite these claims, public authorities have recently raised concerns and begun inspections of delivery personnel. Foody noted that it takes all consumer complaints seriously and investigates them through its established quality assurance processes.
