Panathinaikos reaches agreement with Charleroi for Etienne Camara
Panathinaikos has reached a transfer agreement with Belgian club Charleroi for the acquisition of 23-year-old defensive midfielder Etienne Camara. Negotiations regarding the final personal terms with the French player are currently ongoing. Reports on the transfer fee vary, with estimates ranging between 3.5 and 4 million euros, potentially including bonuses and a sell-on clause. The 1.90-meter-tall player, who has roots in Guinea, was previously developed in the youth academies of Angers and Huddersfield. Camara played for Huddersfield from 2021 to 2023, joined Udinese in the summer of 2023, and transferred to Charleroi in February 2024. During his time at the Belgian club, he made 85 appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists. In the 2025/2026 season, he recorded 44 appearances, 2 goals, 3 assists, and 16 disciplinary cards. Camara has represented France at various youth levels, including participation in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
