Work accident in Strovolos involving air conditioning compressor

On Friday, June 12, at 17:04, emergency services responded to a work accident in Strovolos, Cyprus. A man was seriously injured when an air conditioning compressor exploded while he was performing maintenance. There is conflicting information regarding the victim's age, with reports citing either 46 or 49 years old. The injured man was transported by ambulance to the Nicosia General Hospital. Authorities report that he is currently in critical condition and intubated in the intensive care unit. The Fire Service arrived at the scene, but no rescue intervention was required as the victim had already been transported by ambulance.
