Worker in critical condition after air-conditioning compressor explosion in Nicosia

A 49-year-old man remains in critical condition and is intubated in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital following a workplace accident on Friday. The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the Strovolos area of Nicosia. The worker was performing maintenance and repair work on an external air-conditioning compressor when the device exploded. Emergency services, including police and the Fire Department, responded to the scene following reports received around 17:04.
