Young man rescued after fall into basement in Chloraka
A 20-year-old foreign national was rescued early Saturday morning after falling into an uncovered, unfinished basement approximately three metres deep at a residence in Chloraka, Paphos. The Paphos Fire Service received a call for assistance from the Ambulance Service at 4:52 a.m. Responding personnel deployed a rescue vehicle and crew to the site. The rescuers secured the injured man onto an immobilisation board and carried him up the building's staircase. Once outside, the patient was handed over to the waiting ambulance crew. He was subsequently transported to the Accident and Emergency Department at Paphos General Hospital for medical assessment and treatment. The circumstances leading to the fall remain under investigation.
