Heavy traffic reported during the Cherry Festival in Pedoulas
On the weekend of June 13 and 14, significant traffic congestion was reported in the village of Pedoulas due to the annual Cherry Festival. The Cyprus Police implemented traffic regulations to manage the influx of visitors, particularly between 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Heaviest congestion was noted on the Prodromos-Kykkos road and the Kalopanagiotis-Moutoullas-Pedoulas route. Reports from June 14 indicated that parking areas in the community reached full capacity by early afternoon. Authorities deployed police officers to the area to manage the flow of vehicles and ensure public safety. Drivers were advised to remain patient and strictly comply with the temporary traffic signage and instructions provided by officers on duty. No accidents or major incidents were reported, but police warned the public to exercise caution while navigating the area.
