Turkish Cypriot leader Unal Ustel discusses potential direct flights between Azerbaijan and northern Cyprus

Unal Ustel, the leader of the Turkish Cypriot administration, visited Baku for cultural events and discussed strengthening ties with Azerbaijan. He announced that negotiations for starting charter flights between Azerbaijan and the northern part of Cyprus are in an advanced stage. Ustel stated that both sides are near signing cooperation agreements in the fields of tourism, trade, and education. During his visit, he expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for their support. Ustel emphasized the Turkish Cypriot observer status in the Organization of Turkic States, calling it a historic step. Furthermore, he reiterated his support for a two-state solution to the Cyprus issue, characterizing it as a reflection of existing reality on the island. He also spoke of the concept of 'one nation, three states' regarding the relationship between Turkey, Azerbaijan, and the Turkish Cypriot community.
