Fatal motorcycle accident on Nicosia-Limassol highway
On Sunday, June 14, 2026, a 61-year-old motorcyclist, Christos Sialos from Geri, died in a road accident on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway near Skarinou. The victim was part of a group of ten motorcyclists traveling towards Limassol when he attempted to avoid a dog on the road, which had reportedly been struck by a previous vehicle. Sialos lost control of his chopper-style motorcycle and fell onto the asphalt. A 58-year-old motorcyclist following immediately behind him could not react in time and collided with him. Sialos was rushed to Larnaca General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 58-year-old driver, who sustained minor injuries, was arrested by local police. Authorities, including the Larnaca Traffic Police, are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident. Reports differ slightly regarding the victim's age, with some sources stating 61 and others 55, but official records confirm the identity as Christos Sialos.
