Fatal motorcycle accident on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway
On Sunday, June 14, at approximately 8:30 a.m., a 55-year-old motorcyclist, Christos Sialilos from Yeri, died in a fatal collision on the Nicosia to Limassol motorway near Skarinou. Sialilos was part of a group of ten motorcyclists riding towards Limassol when he attempted to avoid a dog on the road that had been struck by a previous vehicle. He lost control of his chopper-style motorcycle and fell onto the asphalt. A following motorcyclist was unable to react in time and collided with him. The victim was transported to Larnaca General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have arrested a 58-year-old motorcyclist who was involved in the incident as part of their investigation into the exact circumstances. This incident marked the second fatal collision involving a motorcyclist in the region within a 24-hour period.
