Sculpture by Philippos Yiapanis to be installed in Lefkolla

On June 9, a sculpture titled 'The Journey of Cyprus Through the Ages' by artist Philippos Yiapanis was presented in Salamina, Greece. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Greece, the Municipality of Salamina, and the Salamina Naval Base. Mayor of Paralimni-Deryneia, Giorgos Nikolettos, attended the presentation and noted the symbolic connection between Attica and the Famagusta region, linked by the historical legacy of Teucer. The sculpture is scheduled to be installed in Lefkolla, located in Protaras, Cyprus. Its placement aims to serve as a memorial, overlooking the area of occupied Famagusta and ancient Salamis. The municipal authorities stated that the artwork is intended to represent cultural continuity and historical identity. It is expected to become a landmark for residents and visitors once it arrives in Cyprus.
