Nationwide police operations result in arrests and numerous traffic violations

Over the course of Friday and Saturday nights, police conducted nationwide operations resulting in a combined total of 22 arrests for various criminal and traffic-related offences. On Friday, 9 arrests were made for charges including attempted arson, drug possession, and illegal residence, while on Saturday, 13 individuals were detained for offenses such as handling stolen property, public intoxication, and assaulting a police officer. Officers checked a total of 1,365 vehicles and over 1,000 individuals across both nights. Law enforcement issued 674 traffic citations, with speeding being the most frequent violation, totaling 214 reports. Additionally, 41 vehicles were impounded during the operations. Breathalyzer tests conducted during the two nights totaled 674, resulting in 57 reports for driving under the influence. Preliminary drug screening tests also identified four positive cases among drivers. Police stated that these targeted checks will continue on a daily basis.
