Cyprus tax department announces 2025 individual income tax filing procedures
The Tax Commissioner of Cyprus, Sotiris Markidis, announced that the 2025 individual income tax declaration form will be available on the TAXISnet system by the end of the coming week. Taxpayers are required to submit their declarations and pay any outstanding taxes and contributions by the deadline of October 31, 2026. This deadline was formalized through Decree K.D.P. 260/2026, issued on June 12, 2026, following a decision by the Council of Ministers. The obligation to file a declaration applies to employees, pensioners, and self-employed individuals whose gross annual income for 2025 exceeds 19,500 euros. Commissioner Markidis noted that the number of filings is expected to slightly exceed the 337,400 returns submitted for the 2024 tax year. Late submission of the 2025 declaration will incur a penalty of 150 euros, an increase from the previous 100 euro fee. The administration has stated that the timeline provides sufficient opportunity for all eligible taxpayers to comply with their obligations without interest or extra charges, provided the deadline is met.
