Ferry rescues 70-year-old woman in Rio-Antirrio strait

On the afternoon of the incident, a 70-year-old woman encountered distress while swimming near the coast of Rio. She was dragged away from the shore by strong currents in the Rio-Antirrio strait. The Port Authority issued an order for a rescue operation. The ferry Antonios M., commanded by Captain Thanasis Alexopoulos, responded to the location. The crew successfully performed the rescue and brought the woman aboard. She was then transported back to the shore. Upon arrival, medical personnel provided her with first aid.
