Police conduct large-scale anti-drug operation in Paphos

On Sunday, June 14, Paphos police conducted an extensive operation between 4:00 PM and midnight targeting organized crime and illicit substances. The mission involved the drug squad (YKAN), Paphos crime division, and special forces (MMAD). Authorities searched vehicles, motorcycles, and an apartment, resulting in the arrest of nine individuals, though some reports initially indicated a higher number of detainees. Confiscated items included 30.9g of cannabis, 11g of cocaine, 18g of methamphetamine, 4g of cannabis resin, 11g of synthetic cannabis, two ecstasy tablets, and eight vials of anabolic substances. Police also seized €5,510 in cash, a taser, a knife, and duty-free tobacco products. A 29-year-old was arrested for carrying a knife and possession of narcotics, while a 23-year-old motorcyclist and a 19-year-old driver were arrested for possessing cannabis and drug paraphernalia. Six other individuals aged between 19 and 48 were arrested during the search of an apartment containing various drugs. All suspects were charged, with some released to appear in court later, while investigations into the seized evidence continue.
