Lifeguards rescue man from drowning near Limassol breakwaters
On June 13, 2026, at 13:40, lifeguards from the Limassol Lifeguard Unit rescued a 21-year-old man who was in danger of drowning. The incident occurred at the LEM0 area, located near the Limassol Municipal Garden, after the individual climbed onto the breakwaters. The rescue team arrived promptly, performed the extraction, and provided the necessary first aid. The man is currently reported to be in good health. This marks the second successful rescue operation in the same area within one week. On June 7, 2026, a 25-year-old swimmer was also rescued at the same location. The Limassol General Hospital has confirmed that the 25-year-old is also in good health. The Lifeguard Unit has issued a formal reminder to the public to avoid the breakwaters and strictly follow safety instructions.
