Faneromeni26 festival opening with Mythos performance
The Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation will launch the Faneromeni26 festival on Thursday, June 18, 2026. The opening event features a music-theatre performance titled “MYTHOS – From Cyprus to the World”. The production explores themes of human memory, storytelling, and cultural identity through a blend of Cypriot traditions and international repertoire. Performers include soprano Mariza Anastasiadi, who portrays Memory, and actor Petros Yiorkatzis, who portrays Myth, accompanied by the Concordia String Quartet. The performance is designed to guide the audience through emotional transitions ranging from lullabies to experiences of loss and transformation. Organizers noted that the event will include photography and videography for promotional purposes. The festival itself serves as a retrospective of a decade of cultural activities hosted by the foundation. Attendees are invited to experience a narrative that seeks to connect past experiences with modern artistic expression.
