Eurostat reports on 2025 employment rates for recent graduates in Cyprus and the EU
According to data released by Eurostat on Monday, the employment rate for recent graduates aged 20 to 34 in Cyprus reached 82.3% in 2025. This figure aligns closely with the European Union average of 83.0%. A breakdown by gender in Cyprus shows that female graduates achieved an employment rate of 83.3%, surpassing their male counterparts who recorded 81.3%. This trend contrasts with the broader EU average, where male graduates generally recorded a higher employment rate of 84.4% compared to 81.5% for females. Across the EU, those with tertiary education achieved an 87.0% employment rate, significantly higher than the 77.2% recorded for those with a medium level of education. Nationally, the highest graduate employment rates in the EU were observed in Malta at 91.0%, Germany at 90.6%, and the Netherlands at 90.1%. Conversely, the lowest rates were reported in Greece at 62.4%, Italy at 71.8%, and Romania at 72.7%. The EU-wide graduate employment rate has seen a total increase of 7.5 percentage points since 2014.
