Blood Championship blood donation campaign ongoing in Cyprus

The Cyprus Red Cross is running a nationwide blood donation campaign titled 'Blood Championship', which concludes on June 20. Held under the auspices of the Minister of Health and in collaboration with the Ministry's Blood Center, the Cyprus Football Association, and the Cyprus Footballers Association (PASP), the initiative aims to increase national blood reserves. Supporters are encouraged to donate blood and register their favorite football club to contribute to a symbolic leaderboard. As of the current data, Apollon leads with 61 donors, followed by Pafos FC with 51 and APOEL with 31. Other participating clubs include Omonia with 24 donors, Anorthosis with 18, AEL with 11, Aris with 6, APEA with 5, and Karmiotissa with 1. The campaign utilizes sports rivalry as a motivational tool to support patients in need.
