Job vacancies in Cyprus reach 13,905 in the first quarter of 2026

The Statistical Service of Cyprus reported that the number of job vacancies in the first quarter of 2026 reached 13,905. This figure represents a vacancy rate of 2.8% relative to the total number of employees and vacancies. The highest number of available positions was recorded in the wholesale and retail trade sector with 2,649 vacancies, followed by the hotel and restaurant industry with 2,189. Construction businesses reported 1,997 vacancies, while professional, scientific, and technical activities accounted for 1,086 openings. When measured by the highest vacancy rate as a percentage of total staff and vacancies, the Arts, Entertainment and Recreation sector led at 5.1%. This was followed by the Construction sector at 4.7% and the Accommodation and Food Service sector at 4.0%.
