Police arrest 51-year-old man wanted for drug offenses and organized crime membership

On June 15, 2026, Cyprus Police arrested a 51-year-old man who had been wanted for three years. The suspect was sought in connection with an investigation into the importation, possession, and supply of narcotics, as well as membership in a criminal organization. The case is being handled by the Nicosia District Unit of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN). Authorities originally published his personal information and photograph on July 25 and July 27, 2023, to aid in his location. He was apprehended pursuant to a judicial warrant and remains in police custody for further investigation. A 27-year-old woman also implicated in the same case was previously arrested by YKAN on July 26, 2023.
