STEM racing initiative launched in Larnaca area schools
On 21 November 2025, teachers from the American Academy Larnaca initiated a STEM education program, formerly known as F1 in Schools, at the Aradippou D Primary School. The program received official approval from the Cyprus Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth following its initial demonstration. Since the launch, the team has expanded the initiative to four additional schools: Drosia, Kamares, Kathari, and Dali B Primary Schools. Additionally, the American Academy Larnaca hosted the Kiti Primary School on its campus for the program. The curriculum focuses on Physics, Engineering, and Aerodynamics through interactive activities. Students participate in hands-on experiments, including racing miniature compressed-air-powered cars that reach speeds of approximately 40 kilometers per hour. The lessons emphasize the practical importance of reaction time in engineering and motorsports.
