Exhibition on the sanctuary of Aphrodite at Idalion held at Humboldt University

The exhibition titled '(A)prosite Aphrodite: Its famous sanctuary at Idalion, Cyprus' was hosted at Humboldt University in Berlin. The event was a collaborative effort between Humboldt University and the University of Cyprus as part of the ongoing Berlin Idalion Project. Supported by the Photos Photiades Foundation, the exhibition showcased findings from the ancient Idalion archaeological site. The display featured digital applications, 3D reconstructions, and modern museological techniques to present archaeological data. Opening guests included the Foundation's President Ilona Photiadou-Michaelidou and the Ambassador of Cyprus to Germany, Maria Papakyriakou. Academic participants included professors Giorgos Papasavvas, Stephan G. Schmid, and Philip van der Eijk. The initiative aims to promote Cypriot archaeological research and cultural heritage internationally through scientific cooperation. The project continues to provide new evidence regarding the significance of the sanctuary of Aphrodite in antiquity.
