Music events scheduled across Cyprus for International Music Day

Cyprus is preparing for two major musical events to celebrate International Music Day this June. In Limassol, the Alliance Française and the local Municipality are organizing a two-day festival on the weekend of June 21-22, featuring over 50 musicians at the city centre and seafront. The programme includes a variety of genres such as jazz, funk, reggae, and traditional rembetiko. Simultaneously, the 8th Make Music Cyprus Festival will take place from June 19 to June 21, 2026, across the Nicosia municipality. This festival will span three days and involve more than 500 participants across various locations, including Agios Dhometios, Akademias Park, and multiple squares in Nicosia’s city centre. Events in Nicosia are scheduled to occur in a decentralized manner, utilizing public spaces, parks, and streets. Both festivals aim to celebrate music through live performances that are open to the public. These events align with the global Make Music Day movement observed in over 1,000 cities worldwide.
