Closure of disabled parking spaces at Limassol General Hospital

The management of Limassol General Hospital has temporarily closed parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities. This decision led to public complaints regarding the accessibility challenges faced by disabled visitors who are now forced to park at greater distances. Charalambos Charilaou, a spokesperson for the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY), explained that the closure is necessary due to ongoing construction work at the hospital site. Specifically, the space is being utilized by concrete mixer trucks to facilitate the pouring of a floor slab. OKYPY stated that these safety measures will remain in effect until next Thursday. Authorities expect the situation to normalize once this phase of the infrastructure upgrade is finished. The temporary nature of these restrictions has been emphasized by hospital officials.
