Former Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras visits Cyprus for diplomatic meetings

Former Greek Prime Minister and president of the Greek Left Alliance, Alexis Tsipras, conducted a two-day visit to Cyprus. During his visit, Tsipras held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, at the Presidential Palace, where they discussed geopolitical developments and the Cyprus issue. Tsipras emphasized the necessity of coordinating Athens and Nicosia to achieve a fair and sustainable resolution based on the Guterres framework. Additionally, he met with the General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, to exchange views on regional stability and international law. Tsipras visited Cyprus primarily to attend the third international conference organized by the Alexis Tsipras Institute in collaboration with the Prometheus Research Institute. During his talks, he reflected on the close cooperation between the two governments during his tenure as prime minister. He also engaged with President Christodoulides regarding the results of the recent Cypriot Presidency of the EU. The meetings underscored the importance of collective defense of sovereign rights in the Eastern Mediterranean.
