Democratic Rally party announces the deaths of Lambros Zachariou and Christos Chatzisotiris

The Democratic Rally party (DISY) has officially announced the passing of two notable figures associated with the political organization. Lambros Zachariou, a founding member of the party, passed away after a long history of service within the party's ranks, including leadership roles in the Larnaca provincial offices and the Supreme Council. He was noted for his early political engagement at the University of Athens Law School. Additionally, the party reported the death of Christos Chatzisotiris on June 15, 2026. Chatzisotiris served for many years as a municipal councillor for the municipality of Famagusta and was recognized for his professional career both in Cyprus and abroad. He died before achieving his stated desire to return to his hometown of Famagusta. Leadership and members of DISY have issued formal condolences to the families of both deceased men.
